It is with regret that we report the recent death of the following NARPO members: . Frank Edward Buxton, Pc 1276, County. Died 15th January 2012. Frank joined the County Force and started his career at Sutton, then moved to Chilwell before moving to the rural beat at South Leverton where he completed the rest of his service. Eric Walter Blagg, Inspector. Died 23 December. Eric joined the County Force and was first stationed at Newark. He then moved to Arnold, Mansfield and Nottingham Traffic Wing. Edith May Dare, spouse of retired officer Alan Dare Pc 1018 . Died 30 November 2011. Kenneth Morton, Inspector Nottinghamshire. Died 28 Nov 2011.Kenneth joined the County Force and served mainly in the Worksop area. He attained the rank of Inspector. On retiring a worked as a civilian. Dorothy Herrick Police widow. Died 8th November. Dorothy was the widow of Ernest who served in the City Police on Northern Division. He attained the rank of Sergeant. Dennis Frederick Brown D/sgt 93. Died 1st November. Dennis joined the City Police and served in Central Division. Transferred to the CID and was promoted to Det. Sgt in 1965. He then went as Liaison Officer to the Forensic Lab. at Nottingham from where he retired. John Murby Pc 585. Died 25 October. John joined the City Police and served at Hyson Green/Carrington Stations. He did a spell in the Guidhall Cells and finally at Hucknall. He was affectionately known as ‘Rocking John’ because of his dancing and music prowess./ |
